Baxter Neighborhood Association has coordinated with the City of Grand Rapids to provide ten dumpsters allowing community residents to discard their old refuse in an easy and convenient manner. BNA has expanded the one-day event to two seperate dates. The first clean up day is slated for Saturday, July 23rd and the second is Saturday, August 6th.


Trash drop out will begin at 8:00am and will be available until 12:00pm or until all dumpsters are full. The dumpsters will be located at the Sherman Street Christian Reform Church parking lot  at 1000 Sherman Street on July 23rd and at MLK Park for August 6th.

Don't forget about the city's "free" Yard Waste Drop-Off site located at 2001 Butterworth SW. The site is open Monday through Saturday, from 9:00am to 5;00pm.

RULES & REMINDERS


  • DO NOT place your items on the curb. You must bring your items to the designated location. Refuse items left at the curb will be in violation.
  • Have identification to show that you live in the Baxter Neighborhood district
  • No yard waste will be accepted
  • Hazardous materials such as oil, gas, paint, hot ashes or acid will not be collected
  • Major appliances will be accepted including refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, clothes washers, dryers and water heaters (Appliances must be free of trash on the inside, especially refrigerators. Remove all doors from refrigerators and freezers.)
  • Help your neighbors bring trash if you can
  • Don't publicize this event beyond neighborhood residents
