Baxter Neighborhood Association has coordinated with the City of Grand Rapids to provide dumpsters allowing community residents to discard their old refuse in an easy and convenient manner. The last clean up day of the year is slated for Saturday, September 23rd.


Trash drop out will begin at 8:00am and will be available until 12:00pm or until all dumpsters are full. The dumpsters will be located at the Excel Church parking lot  at the corner of MLK Jr Street and Fuller Avenue SE.

Don't forget about the city's "free" Yard Waste Drop-Off site located at 2001 Butterworth SW. The site is open Monday through Saturday, from 9:00am to 5;00pm.

RULES & REMINDERS


  • DO NOT place your items on the curb. You must bring your items to the designated location. Refuse items left at the curb will be in violation.
  • Have identification to show that you live in the Baxter Neighborhood district
  • No yard waste will be accepted
  • Hazardous materials such as oil, gas, paint, hot ashes or acid will not be collected
  • Major appliances will be accepted including refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, clothes washers, dryers and water heaters (Appliances must be free of trash on the inside, especially refrigerators. Remove all doors from refrigerators and freezers.)
  • Help your neighbors bring trash if you can
  • Don't publicize this event beyond neighborhood residents
